ZL34 was derived from a fibrous tumour of the pleural cavity in a 53-year old male patient, prior to treatment, with a known history of exposure to asbestos.

ZL34 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
