Description
Derived from the lung tissue of a male Chinese hamster. The cells exhibit a high plating efficiency and a doubling time of 12-14 hours. Originally used in the discovery of X-ray induced damage and recovery in mammalian cells. This cell line is a clone of cell line V79.

Quality Control
V79-4 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
