Description
Derived from parent line CHO-K1. Cells were exposed to increasing concentrations of compactin over 8 months. During this exposure the level of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase synthesis increased 500-fold. The enzyme controls cholesterol synthesis.

Quality Control
UT-1 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
