Description
SVCT-MI2 was established in 1987 from epithelial cells in breast milk secretions. The cells have been transfected by microinjection using SV40 DNA and a plasmid containing the neomycin gene and the human oncogene EJ Harvey-ras. After selection of G418-resistant colonies, the clone SVCT-MI2 was shown to be tumorigenic in nude mice. They also have the ability to grow anchorage-independent if cultured in soft agar.

Quality Control
SVCT-MI2 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
