Description
Shmac 5 cell line cell line is an Immortalised human prostate cell line derived from a biopsy of a moderately well differentiated early stage prostate cancer (Gleason grade (3+3)). Shmac 5 was immortalised using human papillomavirus type E6 gene from PLXSN16E6 retroviral stock (Denise Galloway, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre Seattle)

Stemline Keratinocyte Medium II (Sigma S0196) + Stemline Keratinocyte Growth Supplement (Sigma S9945) + 2mM Glutamine + 2% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Addition of 2% serum was found to increase cell viability.
Quality Control
Shmac 5 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.

Shmac 5 Cell Line will be shipped using dry ice.

Store the cell lines in liquid nitrogen vapor (less than -130°C)
