Description
From pooled male/female gonad tissue of yearling rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). First cell line to be established from cold-blooded vertebrates. 8-fold difference in growth rate in temperature range 4-24°C. Susceptible to infectious pancreatic necrosis virus, Egtved virus and arboviruses (EEE, VEE).

Quality Control
RTG-2 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.

RTG-2 Cell Line will be shipped using dry ice.
