Description
RIN-5F cell line is a secondary clone of the rat islet tumour cell line RIN-m. Cloning was performed by limited dilution in RPMI 1640, 10%FBS and 20% conditioned medium. The conditioned medium contained growth hormones and prolactin being produced by rat pituitary tumour cells GH3. RIN-5F cells secrete insulin, produce high levels of the key APUD enzyme, L-dopa-decarboxylase and contain membrane-bound secretory granules.

Quality Control
RIN-5F Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.

RIN-5F Cell Line will be shipped using dry ice.
Storage
Store the cell lines in liquid nitrogen vapor (less than -130°C)
