Description
RAT-2 was derived from a subclone of a 5'-bromo-deoxyuridine (BUdR)-resistant strain of the Fischer rat 3T3-like cell line RAT-1. RAT-2 lacks appreciable levels of nuclear thymidine kinase, is highly transfectable by exogenous DNA and is phenotypically normal.

Quality Control
RAT-2 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
