PEA-13 Cell Line

Cat.No.
GBTC-2915E
Description
The cell line PEA-13 is homozygous for a disruption of the gene for low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP). PEA-13 was derived from fibroblasts from day 15 C57BL/6x129 F1 hybrid mouse embryos. Pseudomonas exotoxin A (PEA) was used to select murine fibroblasts genetically deficient in LRP. Together with the cell lines PEA-10 and MEF-1 an experimental system cell line is available for the analysis of cellular uptake of functionally diverse ligands and the effect of LRP-deficiency. This is of importance since LRP-deficient mouse embryos die early during gestation.
