Description
Derivative of NCTC clone 929 and was established in chemically defined medium (NCTC 109). It was subsequently adapted to cysteine-free medium (NCTC 135). The cells have been used in nutritional, immunological and toxicological studies; nutritional, metabolic and enzyme studies; preservation and storage of viable tissue; fluid suspension culture methods and replicate culture techniques and quantitative cell culture methods.

Quality Control
NCTC 2071 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
