Description
The cell line My-La, CD8+, also known as My-La, marker chromosome was established from a plaque biopsy of an 82 year old Caucasian patient with mycosis fungoides stage II. Together with My-La, CD8+ a second cell line has been established by including IL-2 and IL-4 in the culture medium. My-La, CD8+ shows characteristic chromosome markers, express ß-13 of the T-cell receptor and are double homozygous for HLA-A1.B8. Phenotypically a weak staining was observed for CD2, CD3, CD8, CD25, CD71 and TCR-1 alpha / ß. There has been no evidence of HTLV-I infection in the cell line and serum from the patient did not demonstrate antibodies against HTLV-I and HTLV-II. My-La, CD8+ cells show a low viability after resuscitation from frozen and a long lag time phase until exponential growth is reached.

Quality Control
My-La CD8+ Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
