Description
Derived from a 45 year old Japanese female with generalised lymphadenopathy and heptosplenomegaly by co-culture of her peripheral leukocytes with male umbilical cord lymphocytes. The cells carry HTLV-1 and support the growth of HIV. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 3 conditions. MT-2 has a male karyotype and the presence of a Y chromosome has been confirmed by STR profiling at Glow Biologics

Quality Control
MT-2 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
Shippment
MT-2 Cell Line will be shipped using dry ice.

Store the cell lines in liquid nitrogen vapor (less than -130°C)
