Description
MKL-1 was established from a nodal metastasis in a 26-year-old Caucasian male patient. MKL-1 cells contain a Merkel cell polyomavirus integrated into the genome. MKL-1 cells cause tumour formation at 4-6 weeks at subcutaneous sites in athymic male nude mice (BALB/c nu/nu).

Quality Control
MKL-1 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.

Loosely packed floating aggregates with irregular outline and no central necrosis
