Description
The germ-line competent cell line MESC 16 was established from the inner cell mass of a 3.5 day pre-implantation mouse embryo (strain 129/Olac). These pluripotent cells retain the ability to participate in normal embryonic development. Differentiation of the cells is inhibited by Leukaemia Inhibiting Factor (LIF). Addition of LIF allows culture without the use of a feeder layer.

MESC 16 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.

Adherent monolayer of spheroidal cells.

Storage
Store the cell lines in liquid nitrogen vapor (less than -130°C)
