Description
Derived from mononuclear cells from the peripheral blood of a 67 year old male. The patient was diagnosed with Xeroderma pigmentosum group C and showed spontaneous regression of melanomas. A normal level of natural killer (NK) cell activity and number, despite marked lymphopenia, was reported. The original sample was used in UV irradiation studies where UV-sensitivity of lymphocytes and fibroblasts was detected. In addition, a defect in excision repair was reported.

Quality Control
LB253 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
