Description
Originally derived from a biopsy specimen of the right auricular appendage of an adult human heart. The cells support the growth of polio viruses 1 and 3, adenovirus 3 and VSV (Indiana strain). This cell line was found to be indistinguishable from HeLa by STR PCR DNA profiling. Therefore, the cell line should be considered as derived from HeLa. Ethnicity Black.

Quality Control
GIRARDI HEART (HeLa derivative) Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
