Description
Using new PCR based single locus fingerprint techniques, it was discovered that this cell line is identical to T-24. Because T-24 was established in 1970 compared to 1984 for ECV304 it cell line is assumed that ECV304 is the false cell line. Originally, ECV304 was described by the originator as spontaneously transformed cell line derived from an umbilical cord from a new born Japanese female. Tumorigenic in Nude mice.

Quality Control
ECV304 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
