Description
COS-1 cell line adapted to grow in the chemically defined protein- and peptide-free InVitrus medium (Cell Culture Technologies). This cell line is substrate dependent i.e. adherent. COS-1 was derived from CV-1 simian cells transformed by origin-defective mutant of SV40 which codes for wildtype T Ag. Possible host for propagation of pure populations of recombinant SV40 virus. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2.

InVitrus medium (Cell Culture Technologies http//www.cellculture.com/) + 4mM Glutamine + 5 ug/ml Insulin. When freezing cells down use 5050 fresh culture mediumconditioned medium plus 10% DMSO.
Quality Control
COS-1-InVitrus Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
Shippment
COS-1-InVitrus Cell Line will be shipped using dry ice.

Store the cell lines in liquid nitrogen vapor (less than -130°C)
