Description
Derived from the peripheral blood of a 43 year old Caucasian male with widespread melanoma. The cells were transformed with defective EBV (B-95-W8). COLO 839, COLO 858 and COLO 857 were all derived from the same 43 year-old male patient with malignant melanoma (see references below). This has been confirmed by STR profiling.

Quality Control
COLO 839 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
