Description
COLO 677 was originally described as being derived from a tumour in the left axillary lymph node of a 39-year-old male with small lung cell carcinoma in 1989. However, DNA fingerprinting suggests cross-contamination with cell line RPMI-8226; RPMI-8226 was established from the peripheral blood of a 61-year-old male with multiple myeloma in 1966 (see DSMZ website)

Quality Control
COLO 677 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
