Description
The Me-series of esotheliomas were generated by an intrapleural inoculation of UICC crocidolite to induce primary mesotheliomas in syngenic PVG/c Norweigan Hooded rats. Solid fragments of the tumours were transplanted and maintained by s.c. serial passage. Reference cultures designated CARM-lines (CARM-L12 TG3 11120833 and CARM-L1 TG3 11120835) were derived from Me9-TG3 by cloning the cells three times in soft agar. Each line was selected on the basis of their epithelial or fibroblastic phenotype. The cell lines are metastatic in a syngeneic host.

Quality Control
CARM-L1 TG3 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
