Description
Pseudohexadecaploid cell line generated by fusion of the 8-bromodeoxyuridine resistant mutant rat octaploid glioma cell line C6-3-BU-8 and the 6-thioguanine-resistant mutant rat octaploid glioma cell line C6-3-TG-3. C6-4-2 cells provide a suitable model system for studying the regulation of the membrane potential by peptide hormones.

DMEM + 2 mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + HAT (0.1 mM hypoxanthine, 10 µM aminopterin and 16 µM thymidine) Cells can be cultured without HAT provided they were cultured in between in HT medium for 3-4 days
Quality Control
C6-4-2 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
