Description
The ATHOS cell line was spontaneously derived from the porcine thyroid cell line PORTHOS after withdrawal of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). The cells form follicle-like structures, have a high growth rate, a high glucose consumption and are TSH independent for growth. The expression of plasminogen activators has been reported and found to be higher in ATHOS cells compared to PORTHOS cells.

Quality Control
ATHOS Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
Shippment
ATHOS Cell Line will be shipped using dry ice.
Storage
Store the cell lines in liquid nitrogen vapor (less than -130°C)
