Description
6-23 (clone 6) Cell Line was derived from the non-clonal line rMTC 6-23 originally established from a transplantable WAG/RIJ rat medullary thyroid carcinoma. The cell line synthesises and secretes both neurotensin and calcitonin. Its clonal derivation demonstrates that a population derived from a single type of C-cell has the capability of producing both peptides. Secretion of these peptides has been shown to be stimulated by calcium, KC1, glucagon and catecholamines.

DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Cells need to be grown on flasks coated with matrigel or any other attachment factor

6-23 (clone 6) Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
